Photography: Simple Things but Chalenging
Photography is an art and a science, it is highly practical or functional and purely aesthetic, it all depends to what use we put it. Many businesses depend on photography and the entire written media is supported by photo materials of events. People's access to information would be incomplete without photography and everything that it brings. There is also great pleasure in photography and we tend to delight in the technological availability of means to take pictures with.
The beginning of photography can be traced back to the discovery of the camera obscura in the antiquity. For a long period of time, photography depended on films for the image forming device. In comparison with digital technologies, the film, as recording medium is considered obsolete. A latent image is created on the film, and then it becomes usable when processed chemically in the studio.
We can hardly mention all the uses of photography for such long lists. Together with the recorded videos of a certain event, pictures provide highly reliable scientific evidence. There are military, archaeological, forensic, data storage and geographical applications for photography, and these are the largest and most extensively used. Identity control and personal documents require photos. Other than such official applications, there is the entertainment part of photography that we cannot ignore here.
The average mobile phone user takes photos with the cellular. And we want to use photography to capture special moments and turn them into memories. There is no baptism or wedding without video recording and photo shooting. Or, consider for instance traveling, we will inevitably take at least one camera with us on our journey.
There is one other side of photography that is less commercial, but this falls into the realm of art. So many art galleries now house photography exhibitions worldwide. The camera thus captures emotions, gives a unique touch to reunions, celebrations and ceremonies, making things look much brighter when seen in retrospect. Artistic photos contradict everything that is practical or commercial: they have not direct functionality other than to delight and send a message to the viewer's heart.
